I had a 1976 F-250 that ran on propane..I wish I kept that truck it was one of the best trucks I ever owned.

edwrdedmnds, I would be very interested in pics of your resto, I too have a 78 Camper Special, mine is a F350 Ranger. Pics of mine in Gallery. I was considering turning the Spare tire Comparement into a tool Box. What did you do with your side compartment, My wheels are too big for stock spare, so it sits in bed for now.

i just figured out how to put pics online (ebay). so it will be soon. i put the spare tire
carrier back to stock and all the camper special brackets will be in place, i took all the
brackets off a 1974 scs, i had them all sandblasted and painted. i have seen them spare tire carrier doors on hinges that fold down with a chain link on each side of
the door to support it in the down position, fabricate a box and bolt it to the frame
i do like that idea of a tool box. what kind of wheels do you have? i still have the stock 9.75 x 16.5 bias plys on mine the tires are 30 years old. i bought the truck with only 4,700 miles on it.

I for one am interested in the production numbers of these. What about those Indy 500 trucks?

Million, I mentioned there was another thread pertaining tech info.
Moving on.

while doing some internet searchin' I stumbled upon a 78 F150 that was customized and in the article they had the below comment...

", the very rare '78 was finished and christened with a personalized plate reading "78JUS4U,"

link to article

http://www.truckinweb.com/brandpages...150/index.html

I sent them a note asking if they meant after the customizations or prior too and if the later then what was the rare features about it.

nice truck though
