Mirror Question

Hello All,

I have a 2003 F150 XLT Sport 4x4 with power non heated mirrors. I have seen replacement mirrors on ebay that come with the turn signals built into the outside of the mirrors like the factory ones that come on the Lariat, Harley, King Ranch etc.. (not in the glass but on the outside of the mirror). Does anyone know if the wiring is already there in my current power mirrors to include the wire for the turn signal if I was to purchase these mirrors? I don't want to buy them if I have to get a whole new wiring harness. They look like a simple add on but if the wiring is not there already I don't want a major project. Thanks much for the help.

If you don't have the signal mirrors - chances are the wiring won't be there. I got a new harness to add power everything to my truck and the truck it came out of had options for just about everything - rear air susp, anti theft you name it but it did not have the turn signal wires - I may add those however and was wondering if anyone has used these aftermarket mirrors such as the ones sold on ebay - (not necessarily signal ones, but F150 replacement power mirrors) anyhow what is your expirience with them?? does the quality even remotely compare to the OEM mirrors? I see a pretty large price difference so I'd like to know!

the turnsignal wire is ran out to the connector inside the door, but not out to the mirror, i actual made a relay system up so that i could use the lights like running lights and turnsignals, but i used some very small l.e.d. amber lights and formed them to the round shape of the mirror and mounted them on the end of the mirrors, they work perfect.

Even if they did'nt have the wire for the t/s in the harness,it couldnt be to hard to run a wire from the front signals to the mirror

Check out www.KWmuth.com, they are the company that originally outfitted our trucks with the in-glass style led trun signal mirrors. If you snoop around the site or give them a call Im sure they can give you some info as well.
EDIT: Here is the tech manual for the install of the mirrors from the above site, Im sure this will help you out
