I can relate to the limited space; I'm not 6'8". I chose to rework the original bench; eliminated coil springs, used flat springs from Caravan. Had my bench upholstered but too much padding in back of bench, which I'll have to have re-worked.

I finally deciced on a seat. Went to the bone yard and picked up ab2004 Buick Lesabre with leather, electric, and lumbar support with integrated seatbelts. just set them in it for now to check the room, Not bad, have to fab up some mounting brackets, but it really looks sharp.Seen one in a 49 C***y at a car show and thought why not try it. Thanks for all the input fellow truckers. Lost my licensce going to pick them up though. Passed a cop who had someone pulled over and didn't change lanes.Didn't know about that one. Scott's law in Illinois they're really gettin tough.Go to court the 26th.Anywhere from a 100 dollar fine to 10,0000 watch out for smokey from now on and get in the other lane.

I used a back seat out of a early 90's chevy van, it came with the garage when I bought the place. Turns out it fits like a glove in my '51 cab. I just had to cut off the quick attaches at the bottom and make my own mounts. It is a bench that tilts and has seat belt latches in the middle but no straps built in.

e william is starting off with a positive reputation.
I will put in '97 Pontiac GP leather buckets. Made the seat risers in my shop from 1" square tube. They look really good in the truck and I like the look of the head rests peeking through the back glass. apx. 150.00 for both to the door thru ebay.
