I sent an email to DDP asking them how many cc's my injectors were (.0075" EH 7 hole) and here is the response I got:
"Hi Jeremy,
I have to say honestly that we do not know. Back when we started doing PSD injectors we decided to rate them in Horsepower not cc’s. When you put a 7.3 injector on a test stand to measure cc’s you can easily manipulate how much fuel the injector flows by controlling pressure and all kinds of adjustments. We decided that getting into that game could be a risky one since maybe we might have tested them closer the actual factory specs than the next guy. Kind of like buying a car stereo that says it has 100 WATTS!!! of power built in. It is up to whomever the manufacture is to decide how many cc’s they want to call their injectors, not how many cc’s they flow with set guidelines standardized by the industry. So there you have it, my little explanation. Let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks,
Ross

That is not an answer. An answer would be along the lines of "at x psi pressure they flow x volume", not radio type FM theory stuff. We are not putting a man on the moon here. Totally unsat answer if you ask me. I bet someone there knows the flow answer.

the tuner rides in your truck while you drive, he makes measurements and does cylinder pressure testing. Its all in the CP tuning, cylinder pressures can mean a strong running 400hp PMR safe truck or a 300hp truck with forged rods on the verge of bending. He can also tune the ICP, some trucks run better with 2800psi or some run better with 3600.
If i recall correctly, ThugLike from PSN had 565hp on a standard tune from DP based on just telling him what he had done. Then he got live tuned and i believe he went to 617 hp.
Live tuning is also a LOT more than just squeezing out extra HP. Jody completely customized my shift patterns for living in high altitude and also my personal driving style. He took my tow and economy tunes and gave them more power with much less smoke and lower EGT's. By knowing what my truck has for mods, and running tests while driving, he was able to fine tune the timing, fuel tables, ICP, etc to bring power levels, smoke, and EGT's to a level I wanted. My tow tune is based off his standard 40 tow program, but it's now about as powerful as his out of the box 80 tune.
Did I get extra peak power from the tuning? No, I'm still running the same trap speeds and E/T's with my "tweaked" 140 extreme tune as I did with his out of the box standard big oil 140 extreme tune. However, now I'm running zero smoke right after the launch and all the way down the 1/4 mile. Jody has it running perfect.
Curtis, you bring up some good points, mainly that it's not all about extra peak HP. From what I hear, the truck becomes much more driveable after a live tune session with Jody.
I'm sure Kris will give us a full report after he gets his live tuning done...is that this weekend?
yeah Jeremy it is. im going there too, so will see what i can pull out of it with Terminator and Live tuning. im not going to go numbers now cause i jinx somthing LOL.
I intend to get live tuned sometime after I get the new turbo installed. I'd like to get the turbo done sometime within the next month, then take a weekend trip with the GF to the area around Jody's for a little vacation. Get some tuning done on either a Friday or Monday, then head back home.
