Truxedo vs. Access tonneau covers?

Hello, I have never seen a truxedo roll up cover in person, but their aggressive pricing has me interested. I had an 'Access' cover on my last truck and know of a couple others with them also. Does anyone know how a truxedo compares to the access? The access cover is around $500 and the truxedo is about half that!!

I want a roll up cover with velcro sides and stifffeners/cross supports. One handed unlocking and easy adjustability would be nice also.

Any input? good places to by? good deals?
TIA-jim

I have access, the inlaw has truxedo. Honestly, as me being a "regular joe" both are great in quality. We have both never had any problems with them. I'd say go with which ever one is cheaper, as they both have a great track record. Gl!

ebay pricing

just searching ebay quick, Access is $430 and Truxedo is $270. Truxedo is starting to look pretty good!

I've never had much to do with the Access covers but I sure do like my Truxedo Lo Pro. Take a look at https://www.ford-trucks.com/article/...eau_Cover.html for some more info on it.

I have had my Truxedo for three years now...no problems at all. Even in the hot Florida sun - no fading. Easy to adjust when seasons (temp) change, velco sides, one handed locking...seems to be everything your looking for at almost half the money.

For the truxedo covers, does the velcro last a long time? Would it not need to be replaced after a ton of usage? (opening and closing the cover over and over)

It should. If it doesn't contact TruXedo and I bet that they will take care of it. They have a lifetime warranty that covers everything including the fabric.

I Have a TruXedo on my Truck. 2 of My Brothers have Access covers on there trucks. The Stitching let go on both of their covers. luckily for them, the older brother has a Custom Carpet business, so they have a heavy sewing machines capable of sewing vinyl. After sewing the velcro strips back onto the covers both have been fine. But that is what made me lean towards TruXedo.

Truxedo on my wifes 02 chevy was fantastic. Very durable winter and summer, kept the elements out, easy to clean, and fit well. So we put one on her 05 FX4 screw, it doesnt seem to fit well at all. Box fills with dust terribly, and gets wet inside. combination of small open spaces at the front close to the cab were dust swirls (cant adjust to fix) and not as tite fitting tailgate I guess. Maybe it was installed incorrectly or its because its the original style, not the low style we had on the chev. Going to look at it closer.

The Truxport cover that is shown above is our economical cover. It mounts to the top of the pick-up bed and has a 5-year warranty. The Lo Pro QT is our most popular cover (and the one that I have on my own truck). It mounts to the inside of the truck bed and has a lifetime warranty. The Lo Pro QT also has other features like automatic tension control, extra seal in the corners, and floating hook for the Velcro on the rails.

BEWOLD: Contact me about your cover. I'm not sure why you are expierencing some moisture in your bed, but we should be able to figure out a fix for that. Also, the Truxseal that we offer helps keep out dust. It goes around your entire tailgate. Tailgates aren't airtight so dust can get in there.

+1 on the Truxedo. I have had one on my 2004 supercrew since new. three years later it still looks and works like new.

I have a Truxedo Lo Pro on my 04FX4....and I love it. It was easy to install, it looks great...kinda old school naugahyde style. My only minor complaint is when I wash the truck, the loops (for securing the top when it is rolled up) sometimes slip down between the cab and the bed!!
