There isnt much you can do except ask for digital pics sent to your email.

I'd rather be walking through a hot desert carrying a Ford hubcap than driving a POS Chevy

Get somebody you trust to look them over for you. What parts are you looking for?

Parts of the second hand variety that I'm looking for are:
primarily a 428 crank

A block to go to 428 bore or 427 bore would be nice but maybe to ambitious for now. I have an FT block that may test thick enough.

When you find the crank, see if anybody here lives close enough to go by and look it over or even ship it for you. I'd hate to pay shipping charges and discover it was junk.
