There is a set of 406 cast exhaust manifolds on ebay, and I wanted to know if they would fit in a 69 F250 without too much trouble. Looks like they could have decent flow without the headaches of headers.

I've heard some need clearanced on the passenger side framerail, a grinder and some time would fix it

 

Check the bolt pattern. FE's used a variety of bolt patterns for the exhaust. Most (mine included) use 8 bolts arranged in vertical pairs. Some use diagonal patterns of 14 or even 16 bolts per side. Just look at yours and compare to a picture of the ones that are for sale.

I don't know about the '69 chassis but I had to notch the frame rails on a my Dad's '76 F250. Then we welded a piece to the frame to keep it from breaking. The auction is over at ebay and were up to $385 the last I saw.

I have a set for sale; guess I ought to post then under the classifieds.

Hey Folks, there is another set of those cast "Shorties" on Ebay. I wish I could make them fit without modifications. Look's like they would flow well, but leak less and have less of that "through the header wall sound". Just an FYI
