Heat Extractor Hood picked up

Hoping to get it into the paint booth this week and installed.. I went down Saturday and picked it up.. Wasn't a bad trip, 400 miles round trip.. Pulled a solid 15mpg @ 75mph whole way with 315/75R16 Toyo MTs..

I had planned on painting it black, then having the two cowls towards top (past the vents) painted silver to match the stripe at the bottom of my truck.. More I look at the hood, it's not going to work.. So I'm going to just paint it all black..

I don't think EGTs are effected by the hood.
It may slightly lower underhood temps, but I'm not sure by how much.

I've had one since 2001:

I Love mine. It is probably not all that functional, but it does give it a distinctive look. Eveybody elses front end looks FLAT to me

Question are those real holes in the hood? What happens if snow, rain, and dust get in your engine bay?

There are 4 drain holes on the underside of the hood.

2 dump above the fan shroud....not on the fan, just on the plastic and runs down. And the other two are in the corners by the cowl and dump when you raise the hood.

I've never had any issues with anything getting in the engine bay (I've check right after driving through heavy storms).

Gage, I paid $400.. I met the husband/wife that own the company.. Looked around, checked out molds, process, etc.. They do top notch work, I was EXTRMELY comfortable with their work.. They had a Good Hood Heat Extractor there that was cut in half and then one of their hoods.. The Good Hood was thinner compared to their's.. Which was the main reason I was interested in it.. There was other things that were different.. None the less it was an experience.. I don't know much about fiberglass, let alone how the process is used to make hoods.. After leaving there I felt like I knew heck of lot more.. They showed me how they sandwich the tops/bottoms, fill, smooth etc.. Impressive..

Now to get it painted lol

The front shot is a little washed out but here it is:

Oblique shot:

By the way. the hood is TALL. It sticks up and draws your eye from the cabin. Hard to show but here is a peek:

Mine is the Keystone Good Hood.

I may have to look in the one Storm got for the price, for my 2007...

Storm, what other differences were there between the hood you got and the Good Hood?
