Pushrod length

As I have posted before I am doing a 390.
Gears... 4.10 rear and 4.09 front. C6, NP 203. Right now open differentials both ends, looking at the "no-slips" from Power-trax. Tires to be......35's probably, still looking and figuring. It's a work in progress, if you know what I mean. L2291f30 pistons, deck machined to achieve 0 deck, about .020" removed. .010 under on crank and rod journals. Line honed. Balanced, Harland Sharpe roller tip rockers with "rocker Arm Specialties" stands with end supports. ARP everything. Stans tri-Y headers, the balance of the exhaust to be determined..... probably 2-1/2", maybe with X/H pipe equalizers. Windage tray, HV oil pump, and the Oil mods on everything except oil to the rockers, at this point. Edelbrock performer RPM heads, manifold, carb(750), and cam.
I just discovered a problem with Pushrod length. that you all might be interested in. Stock pushrods would not work on my set up because of the Harld Sharp adjustable rockers. I ordered the Crane 34642 pushrods, but they are for solid lifters.... mistake number 1. I was about to order the Crane adjustables for hydraulics, but looked at the length on the crane website. 9.250 overall. Apparently when they state overall length they are refering to Cup (top edge) to ball dimension, which means it is about .187" shorter effective, which leaves me no room for the lock nut. Anyway, I ordered from Smith Brothers 9.5" rods, and that should make everything happy.
I did the valve clearance to piston today, and have another .060 to play with, over the edel RPM cam's lift/timing. I also played with desktop dyno and the crane hyd. roller cam 34952, awsome torque, seems to me, but it runs out of legs at about 5000. Anybody used the crane Hyd roller set up before? Still looking for the best cam.......
Tom
