Turbo and Fuel ?'s

I've come across a couple remote-built turbo systems in 5.0L Explorers lately and found it extremely intriguing... I'm very tempted to gather up the goods and fab it into my 5.0L Ranger.

However... what will I need to make up for with the fuel system? I've talked to a couple mechanics that say it should run fine as-is. They say the computer will be able to compensate for extra air as long as it's not wide open at high rpm (4500+) for long periods, which I don't do anyway. However, what about full boost/full throttle at less RPM, like pulling a hill? Will it keep up with the extra air or do I need to worry? Naturally I would like to finish the swap with the least money invested, but I don't want to cut a corner and blow it up. A lean burndown is obviously something I don't want.

I've looked into aftermarket injectors, like a 30lb. setup instead of the stock 19's. Overkill? I know that by swapping injectors I'm gonna need to have the computer reflashed to make up for it. What companies can reflash (and get it right for the turbo)?

Also, will the stock MAF work or do I need to step it up? Again, I've been told by multiple mechanics that the computer will be able to make up for it, but for some reason it seems illogical to me that the computer could make up ~6psi of boost like that over long periods...

Suggestions?

Megasquirt computer will take care of any mods you do. HAve you thought about the fuel prices and having to run premium all the time? I would go with Nitrous in this day and age, Don't have to use it if you don't need it and the truck will run the same if something breaks in the system or you are out of NO2!! Seems like space would be tight in the ranger(if it's the small ranger not the 70's) for mounting the turbo. Look into the megasquirt it might make your life easier if you are good with computers.

The larger injectors will do nicely. There really is no need in going with an aftermarket fuel management system, especially an experimental unit that controls fuel only.

The other part of the fuel system should be sufficient enough to support the injectors.
