Rebuilding Late 70's, Marine 351W
#16
Hey Fellas,
Quick question. I know that the marine/ industrial blocks have some differences from truck / auto blocks. On my block, on the "passenger" side, which would be my starboard side, there is a very small tapping (1/4") about 1/2" to 3/4" above where the oil pan matches up. It looks like it hits into the web that holds the second to last main.
I am not confusing it with the 1/4" tappings that go into my water jacket. I have one of those on each side of the block, and they sit a little bit higher up the block than this tapping.
It looks like this tapping just dead ends like it may just be a bolt hole, but for the life of me, I don't recall removing any thing from there. I think it would even be covered by the starter.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Kenny
