They talk about it over in the 87-96 forum.

They used to put a copy of the build sheet under the rear seat along time ago, hmmm I wonder if they still leave a copy in it somewhere. Gues it really doesn't matter now that you can get one over the internet, pretty cool

I sent mine in. I also asked the ever debateable question. " What is the diffrence in an F-250 and an F-250 HD in the 1994-1997 year models."

I sent mine in today as well.

I can answer your question for you though. There is no difference other than model year between the 250 and 250 hd. In 97 there was a light duty (newer body style like the 97 f-150) and there was a OBS 250. The OBS was labeled HD to set it apart from the 250 LD new body style. the 96 and older 250's had no LD counterpart so they were just labeled 250's

Thanks for the input tj but I have also seen 95 and 96 models in an HD version. I am aware of the 97 LD it looked like the 97 F-150 but had some kind of heavier axles with an odd lug pattern (6 lug i think ?). The reason i asked FORD is every time i bring up this topic on a forum i get many diffrent answers. I wanna know straight from the horses mouth.
