Okay...now, where in BC ?
There are tons of speed shops in the Vancouver/Surrey/New West areas.
You can also buy online with MOPAC.

Shouldn't be too hard or expensive to get something out of Kelowna.
Here are some GV listings.

my friend built my old 429 out of a 70 t-bird. He bought the motor from me for 600 with bad bearings. He put about $9k into it. Dyno proven 713hp at the crank on 105 octane. Bored out to 435. It was nasty. Very sneaky in a long bed pickup. It runs 7.20's in 1/8th mile all motor. In a 76 f-100. It is coooool. The only bad thing is getting about 3 mpg and paying $6/gal for gas.

yep, hp depends on cam and valvetrane. you could go a 545 stroker easily- .030 overbore 4.5" stroke, a nice hydraulic cam like lunati 31604, d3ve's from scotty at rhp- ported and with oversized valves installed, rpm air gap or victor intake, 950 cfm carb, and have an honest 500 horse for around 4000-4500 dollars

what cam you need depends on how you will use it. there are lots of ways to get hp out of a motor without cammin it up. mostly airflow, lots of porting, good headers, intake, carb etc. You can get your 500hp without throwing a huge cam in the motor. The bigger lift and longer duration the less streetable it will become.

but the more cubes the smaller the cam acts. thats why i said the 31604 instead of the 31602... in a 545 the 31604 should be about like a 31601 or 2 in a 460, also lift doesnt matter on streetability- its duration and lobe separation that mainly affect streetability.
