4.2L Short block w/ 3.8L uppers

I have a 3.8L that I am lookin to get more power out of. I was told that if I used the 4.2L shortblock with the harmonic balencer and flywheel I could put the 3.8L heads, upper lower intake and fuel rail with injectors and would be putting out almost 175 and up horses. Do you know if this is true?? Would I have to change anything over other than what was previously stated??

If it's the same basic block then it should be mechanically feasible. It's the same as if I bought a 240 head for my 300. Basically you're increasing compression and then some. The question is if the computer will say no or not.

my research into these 2 motors shows that they share the exact same top end as far as heads etc. go. The swap is easily feasible but the gains probably wouldnt justify the amount of work involved in the swap. I would lean more toward a supercharger from a T-bird supercoupe.
