I have a 2003 F150 King Ranch 2WD Supercab with 35k original miles. I have a K&N filter and a flowmaster installed. I try to keep my foot out of the gas and am still only getting about 11-13 MPG. Is this normal? What else can I do to get the mileage somewhere in the 16+MPG range?
Deputy- I have a 2003 King Ranch SuperCab 2wd, just under 40K miles, 5.4 with the 3.55 rear gears. Guess what, around town 12-13 MPG, freeway only, 18MPG. That's all folks, there is nothing wrong with your truck.
My King Ranch has a lifetime average of 14.3 MPG. The very worst mileage was when it was new, 11.5 MPG on the very first tank. The very best was 18.7 MPG on a road trip.
ya know, come to think of it ive never actually sat down and calculated mpg in my truck..i guess i knew it was gonna suck in the first place and with this lead foot of mine doing 90 on the hiway with 33's i think i really dont wanna know or care to .... on the other hand i can tell you my mazda gets 29mpg all day long, with that car its fun to calculate mpg, i keep trying to see if i can hit 30!!
