1998 Ranger 3.0 - High Output Alternator
I have a 1998 Ford Ranger XLT 3.0L Manual trans w/AC 4x4 with a 6.5' Meyer snow plow.
My alternator is starting to squeal (bearings I'm told) and would like to replace it with a high output version (160W or 200W). A 160W version from one of the local auto parts stores claimed a shop price of over $600... I know they are available much cheaper.
I see some listed for the 4.0L motors online - should these also fit my 3.0L?
If not, could someone here give me some guidance on the correct model alternator numbers I need to look for as a replacement.
Thanks in advance.

check www.4alterstart.com for it. I got a 165 amp for my car and i think my ranger has a 160 in it from them too(i did't put it in though). Just make sure your grounds are good. Good luck
