61?62 4x4w/59 body
Ok,I've traded for this heap. It's a 61/62 3/4 ton 4x4.The body is trash, which leads to this ??I have a '59 I'd like to put on this frame. Can I do away with the slave cyl type clutch in the 59 & use the pedals out of the 62?Also,the trans/transfer is all still there,I'm guessing it had a 223/y-block.I'd like to put in a 300 in it,I have a manual bell for the 300 but will it work with old style tranny?I'm building this as a farm dog,it will probably see VERY little if any road use as it's probably geared like a tractor anyway.

I'm not sure about the slave cyl & pedels question, but again a closer fit.
Nope, a 240/300 I-6 is a completely different family of I-6s than previously designed FoMoCo I-6s. You'd have to have a adaptor plate made in order to use you original trans.
You'll also have to use Electric Fans instead of the original Fan Belt Driven Fan Blade, as there is No Room for it as the 300 I-6 block is longer.
Cheque out "My Gallery" to see a 300 I-6 w/ C-4 swapped into my '58 Mercury M-100 that had a 223 I-6 w/ Merc-O-Matic.
