floor shift vs. column shift??

floor shift vs. column shift??

Hi Guys...my 51 merc has the 3 speed shifter on the floor. Was the column shift an option? Other way around?? What gives??

Sounds like you have the HD Warner T87D 3spd instead of the light duty column shift 3spd.

If it is the T87D stay with it! That was my solution to breaking the light duty 3 speed many moons ago when It ran behind a 56 nailhead Buick.
