Yeah, I didnt just buy the truck, Done filters and all basic stuff. I am just looking for anything that I might have overlooked or not even thought of.
Its time for me to do a little tune-up before winter comes along, so I was curious as to what brands of sparkplugs and wires people have had good luck with.
I have heard that for our engines (I have a 351W) the standard autolite/motorcraft plugs seem to be the ticket. Is this the general consensus?
Is there any other things that I should pay some extra attention too? I am at about 145000 miles. Any thoughts?
Thanks, Josh
We offer our Live Wires with off-the-shelf part numbers OR you can order them from us and have us build each wire to the exact length you want for each cylinder. Also with the specified boot angles.
You can't go wrong with stock motorcraft wires. Advance auto sells them $65 a set. Well worth the money. You'll pay a little more for the brass/bronze distributor cap (usually around $30 for just the cap alone) but it's well worth it. Check the wires every 30k, and replace plugs around every 60k and you should be good. I'd probably pull the throttle body off and clean it up as well.
