Fiberglass

I am thinking if purchasing fiberglass rear fenders and running boards for a '49 F-1. Anybody out there have an opinion, and possibly a source. Thanks John

I have rear 3' wider rear fiberglass fenders that I bought from Mid Fifty. I,m thinking that they are "Bebops" , I can't remember for sure. They are good and solid and no problems so far. My truck has been on the road for about 1 1/2 years now.

I bought my rear fenders and running boards from a local company called B&E fiberglass in Park Rapids, MN. Phone # is 218-732-9232. They also manufacture for some of the vendors. Quality was very good and the price was also very good.

I bought lower front fenders from Fairlane Products; have not installed them yet but are smooth and "straight".

I purchased fenders and running boards directly from BE- Bops in East TN. Very heavy duty. I was completely satisfied with the products. However I purchased the 3" wider rear fenders and now wanting to mount a side mounted spare tire. They do not make A 3' wider fender with the indent for a spare tire. I am working on a method where I can modify the one I have.

I too may be looking for a set of rear fenders. I am currently in the process of cutting mine off the warped bed sides in an attempt to salvage them. I seen a few of you guys mentioned 3" wider rear fenders? are these available for the 48-52 body style as well?

Try Gibbon Fiberglass reproductions, 132 Industrial Way, Darlington, SC 29532 or (843) 395-6200 or www.gibbonfiberglass.com I got two for my '51 with smooth sides. Yours will have the "crimp" in the side probably. Be sure to "sun cure" them so they won't have "stars" after you paint them and they get in the sun. They will ship UPS vs truck.
