2006 SCrew 4x4 5 1/2" Bed
Magnaflow SIDO Rear exit

I love it. It has a nice tough sound to it without being annoying (Even when towing).

Bought my 07 xlt 4x4 with the magnaflow already on it. Sounds good and the truck seems to run well. Don,t know but im averaging 20 miles to a gal with the 5.4 on my 150 mile commute. This truck is a far cry from the 93 I had much better and a lot more comfy.

I have 05 Fx4. I have true duals with magnaflow mufflers and stainless tips. I did most of the work at a friends shop, going on 2-1/2 years with no problems sounds great.

2007 F-150 Lariat 5.4 stock exhaust...too new to do anything. Right now I'm enjoying the quietness of my ride. I'd go with a true dual exhaust, Flowmasters probably, exiting out one side behind the wheel kinda like stock. That's what I did on my '72 F250, 2-1/2" all the way. What a rumble coming from a 428,(7.0 for you metric geeks); sometimes it sets off car alarms when I go by a parked car and yet it's not loud until I romp on it!

I have an 07 Reg Cab FX4 with 5.4L engine and a Banks Monster Exhaust with 5x6 oval tip. My dad has an 05 FX4 with 5.4L enginer and a Banks Monster Exhaust with a 5" round tip. Both of us agree that the exhaust is the perfect match between between comfort and sound. When you step on the gas it sounds like a well behaved muscle car with a very deep tone, yet at highway cruising speed you can hardly hear it. The fit was perfect and it looks awesome. The big tip really compliments the deep sides on the box.

My truck is the same as yours even as to color except it's an '05. I just eliminated the "hot water tank" muffler with a straight piece of pipe which keeps the outlet in the stock location. I like the sound, fairly loud but not obnoxious driving down the road. Tried in front of the tire put it droned.

Awesome!! Please post the pics and if you don't mind, the price you paid to have it done.

I'm glad your happy with it!

For those that went with replacing the 'hot water tank' muffler with a piece of pipe, how do you like it? I have a screw and I'm not wanting it to drone in the cab.

Magnaflow Single In, Dual Out

The truck sounds wicked at low RPM's and very little noise on the highway at 60+ mph. I paid $480 and installed in my driveway with hand tools. I used to like custom exhausts, but after buying this one, I'm all for the Magnaflow products.

Has anyone tried a selectable exhaust cutout just before the stock muffler? I want better performance when towing uphill but i want it to be quiet when around town. They have them in JCWhitney for like $25 for a lever activated one.

2 reasons not to

1. they dump the exhaust under your truck bed. anything after the cutout will have exhaust soot all over it.

2. those cutouts are subject to rapid temp changes and moisture. they tend to fail open/shut and sometimes they will just rust out on ya

you can get a nice performance exhaust that sounds almost stock. Gibson specializes in that.
