My first guess would be RING!!!! Unless you ran the EGT's too high and melted a hole in the top of one or more of your pistons.

Now with that said, are you sure that your loosing it in blow by? Have you disconnected the CCV, added a piece of hose to it and run it into a coffe can to collect what is comming out?

That is where I would start like plow said. Does it smoke excessively?

Well, it basically smokes a lot. I talked to a buddy and he said it's most likely a blow by. it's a buddy of mines truck that i might buy. but i know it has a garrett turbo so could the be running EGT's to high? No oil drip on the ground that i can see. wheres the CCV at? We put 10 quarts in and ran it down the road and back and it showed around 3/4 full. Turned the engine off and came back 2-3 minutes later said it was empty, looked on the ground no oil drip. I'll check the exhaust since i didn't really check there at all. But the truck runs excellent otherwise. Oh ya another note i drove it from my house to ana dvance auto parts and back which is about 12 miles and lost 6 quarts of oil

Garrett is our factory turbo.
Here is the CCV. It is on the drivers side VC toward the rear. Mine has been turned around. The hose that goes into the intake is what you need to hook a hose to, similiar to the way I have in the photo.

This is odd and it doesn't sound like blowby but then again it could be.

Could be the turbo. when you check the exhuast check for oil residue. Its possible that the oil seal is out on either side (intake or exhaust) and its dumping oil into the motor or out the exhaust. if it still have a muffler on it drill a very small hole in the very bottle front of the muffler. you may find your 6 quarts of oil.

For it to be blowby that is a ton of oil to go thru. Normally blowby will see a quart or 2 in a couple hundred miles not 6 quarts in 10 miles.

Like I said earlier and TJ said above. The only truck that I have ever seen with that much blow by had holes melted in the top of 4 pistons. When you cranked it up at idle it would blow the dip stick out and shoot oil out of it, the CCV, and the fill tube.

If your not seeing that much oil being lost, then it's going through the cylinders and being combusted with the fuel.

Anybody think it could be injector o-rings and the oil is returning to the fuel?

I have never seen o-rings cause that much oil to disappear. If that were the case there would be so much oil bypassing the o-ring I doubt the truck would start let alone run. O-rings can cause oil to get into the fuel but probably not at this scale. Very good thought though!

When we first got the truck it wouldn't run at all barely. It would start run then die right away. Doesn't matter now really, the truck goes back to whoever it is today.
