We picked up some Grilled sweet Teriyaki pork jerky from Sam's club on Saturday on our way back from KC. Its really tender, but its a little too sweet. I don't hate it, but its certainly not what I was thinking it was going to be. Not too bad, except when you first open the bag for the day. (hold your breath).

I think you are right, that is what it reminds me of as well, its a little pungent s/p?
Today I finally saved up enough money to replace the tire on my jeep, so I celebrated by taking myself out to a local BBQ joint, for some smoked turkey. It was good, but not as good as the BBQ joint in Lawrence. (their smoked turkey)
The mac and cheese was spot on, and the beans were eh.. so so. but it was a nice change from my usual lunch.

We had fresh caught trout from the local stocked lake with rice and peas for supper. That trout was good. The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism stocks it in the fall and winter. Yum yum and not too fattening.
I thought with the holidays this would be a good old thread to bring back up. Especially since Curtis is trying to cure his anorexia.

I have been following my book again. I got to my breaking point, I reached an all time high weight, and my work pants were almost too tight to fasten.
Friday before last I was sitting at 224 lbs, this morning I was 214. I have been walking and running on the treadmill for 1 - 2 hours per day. First week sucked, second week will suck with even more magnitude, and then the third even more than that. The fourth is supposed to be the week that things get back to normal (kind of) but I suppose it is more like the first week.
Beyond all of that, I ate a steak at Texas Roadhouse tonight that was Medium Rare, and since I was so hungry, it may have been the best steak I have ever had. : )

I made some homeade smoked beef jerky for snacks-- Made different batches- (dr pepper Jalapeno-- Dr Pepper non-jalapeno- Garlic/onion- Teriyaki- Plain- and BBQ potato chip flavor (which was odd and a new fake flavoring))- all and all I like doing it- and it is easy-- I need a chopper though.

We make a lot of homemade jerky using sliced roasts. I buy the roasts when they go on sale for around $3 a pound.
Curtis, for you, you would just need to package it with only two small pieces in a package and stick $5 in your jeep project kitty each time you took a pack. That would be a win-win.

Well, I just put another 200.00 into the Jeep yesterday so I am paid up for the next 80 pieces of Jerky. Unfortunately, the new parts are not going to help it move in any way. It's armor, and will weigh it down another 50 lbs. Next purchase will be rock rails, so there is another 160 pieces of Jerky. By Feb, I could have a heart attack. LOL!!!
