Is it that rare that it doesn't get mentioned ? The flathead v-12.

Yes. I've only seen 3 of them and one of those was junk. Cylinders are about the size of frozen juice cans - the little ones.

Too bad really, because the concept is damn cool. It would look so spiffy in a Track-T style hotrod. It was a concept not thought completely through. Too much weight for its power.

I *think* just the Lincoln. They were not a good engine from what I read way back when. Overheat and a weak crankshaft were common problems IIRC. And they did not put out much power. There was a hulk of a Continental behind an Indpls Ford dealer that my Mom wanted to get and fix forty+ years ago. Guess who would have been doing all the fixin'. Thank heavens we couldn't find the owner...

I saw one, on one of the hot rod shows on tv one night, The last one I saw was that I could touch was in one of those pretty Continentals, Ford brought the body style back years later as the mark ll. Personally I thought the earlier model was much nicer. Don't forget the Zepher which also had the V12. Darn I'm dating myself here, that water went over the dam a long time ago. kotzy
