P0500-speed Sensor

Have a 2000 F350, recently ABS light is on and speedometer is not working-jumps all over, tried looking for which and where the speed sensor causing this would be. I am missing something, need help

You need to clean or maybe replace your VSS sensor. It's on your rear differential.

Someone needs to write up a complete procedure, with pictures, for cleaning or replacing a VSS. It would be very helpful.

See several similarities in the problems but we don't have any driving, shifting issues, ours is a standard. We will look at it in the am, just know that speedo shows nothing until I hit about 40 before it comes up. Check engine light is on and obd shows the p0500. So...we will take the part in to get the right one, I(better half will be the one getting the part, minor confusion as to whether I should call it the VSS, ABS sensor, brake sensor?
