Carter AFB Strip kits contain assorted rods plus jets.

Part # 10-201

Step-Up Springs come with 6 sets up springs

Not sure on the part #, but...

Carter products are sometimes hard to come by. I have heard Jegs has discontinued Carter products so...

Edelbrock is the next choice. It is exactly the same Part # 480 for the Strip Kit and # 1464 for one set of springs.

Checker Auto Parts and Auto Zone have some accessories for Edelbrock carbs.

I would say you DO NOT need the spring assortment. 5 hg springs are more than adequate unless you are running a 2X4 Carter AFB set-up. Which you aren't.

To set the rods for cruise, keep leaning out the engine until you get a very noticeable surge while driving and richen it back up 1 or 2 steps.

To set the power stage you will need to have access to something that allows you some full throttle test runs. What you are looking for is the highest MPH for a given length.

For example, you hit up the local dragstrip and click off 90 MPH. Richen up the primary 1 step and take another run. You click off 91. So your richen up one step and click off 90 again.

Go back to the 91 MPH setting. Then do it all over to set the secondary side, maybe even having to resest the primary after that is all done. At the same time you will also want to set the accelerator pump and ignition timing.

It's tedious. It sucks, but to get the most power it takes time.

So, get the Strip Kit it is well worth it. Forget the spring kit.
