question on exhaust and headers

I am not a expert on this stuff...but what exactly would be the pros and cons of headers and high perf exhaust? I understand horse power and torque...but anything in mpg improvment? I like the quite ride I have now...but was talking to some folks and they seem to think I would improve mpg with headers and exhaust. And if there was....how much improvment do you all think verse the cost of headers and exhaust? Just food for thought......

I would say, if you don't want the sound or don't want/need the extra performance it's better to just save the money (let's say $1500 for all of that), and put it towards gas.

You MAY be lucky to gain a mile, maybe two, with those. Do NOT do Flowmaster. Get an exhaust that is mandrel bent and with a flow through muffler.
