make an oil filter a dry filter

i have an airaid oiled filter and was wondering the next time i clean it if i don't put oil in it will it be fine or does an oil filter need oil?

is there really a difference between oil and non oiled filters (taking about the structure)

Not a good idea. The media of the oiled filter is more pourous than a standard paper filter.

The oil is there to catch the smaller particles of dirt, the dirt sticks to the oil and then is washed off. However with the CFM these turbos pull, gene needs to analyze how easily the oil at a certain weight with a certain percentage of particles in it can be pulled from the filter a certain distance away with x CFM.

The other filter thread is about dead, (or so i think), and now Gene doesn't have anything to do during his busy days.
