FMX Transmission Bellhousing
Jeff, You will either need to find one out at a salvage yard or look in the 58-66 era cars and trucks with a FE 352/390 in it. You can tell by the shift indicater, it will have a green dot on it.
That tranny has a little different shifting pattern than most so get the indicater with the tranny. I have a 66 F100 with one in it, and I receintly had it rebuilt.

Feel free to start a new thread for something like this. The FMX ran '67 to '79, so lots of 360 equipped PU's and other FE vehicles could have the part you need. Read more on this thread, which includes a link with info:

The FMX may have been offered through 79 but the FE was not offered past 76.

Post 8 here indicates they are close enough to adapt. He's talking FMX trans to Ford-o-matic bell to fit a Y block.

A bit of a search to find this, and it requires some fiddling. I would look for the FMX bell and be done with it. Millions (maybe) served, they should not be hard to find.

No, but with the kit from, Bendtsen’s
We have finally put a Ford AOD transmission on these motors with no block modifications, and only a small case modification done at home!
This adapter kit will allow you to bolt ANY small block Ford transmission to these motors! C4, C6, AOD, E4OD, T5 manual trans, etc. This kit was mainly developed to allow Y-block owners to bolt popular automatic overdrive transmissions to these motors without butchering the block or case. If you only want to bolt on a C4 trans, then there are cheaper alternatives. Unlike other kits, we give you the flexibility to change the transmission type at any time. With that in mind, who's kit is really high priced? My kit is priced within $170.00 of the kit that only lets you put a C4 trans on your motor. I've been a transmission rebuilder for over 30 years, and I can say that the Ford cast Iron transmission ( with modifications ) is a far better transmission than the C4. The only advantage the C4 has is that it is smaller and lighter. Switching to a C4 transmission seems like nothing more than an expensive lateral move. Do yourself a favor and reduce your engine RPM's. Your motor will reward you by lasting twice as long. The gear ratio's in the AOD are also much better than the C4 trans. We have two
