I heard the Regina Food bank was putting on a show so we decided to stop around and have a look. There was lots of mustangs and a few cougars and a cuple of T Birds and they were all real nice. The blue mustang with the 408 that you guys where talking about was there, at least I think it was the same one, kind of a royal blue. Anyways not much for trucks but there was one there that was kind of unique. The guy told me that a ford guy had checked the serial number and it was a prototype truck. It is a 61 F100 with a Perkins diesel in it and a 4 speed. It has a huge rad but no fan in it and it looks like it came from the factory. It has huge wheel wells front and back, the ones in the back are almost twice as wide as on a normal truck. The guy told me it was designed for running in the desert for the army and it had real wide terrain tires on it. The truck itself was in good shape although the paint is badly faded. Other than the motor and some gauge pod under the dash the truck looks like any other 61. I wish I had my camera for that one, i didn't even have my cell so I could take a few pictures.
Always great to bump into a car show.
I don`t know about the 61 story though, too bad there`s no easy/quick way of checking it out. It would be a very interesting find.
I was working on a guy's tractor, he thought the PTO was engaging to harsh. I will let you know the next time I out there if I get notice a head of time.
