Oh well it was good while it lasted. But there wasn't a market for it anyways as it was TOO close to the F150. but it still is a very nice truck. But still good to see Ford taking a step in the right direction for a change
Correction... Lincoln needs more EXCITING vehicles
seriously after the MKZ (which is a sick car by the way) what else have they to offer. nobody want's an Old Outdated Towncar, the MKX is decent I guess but the Navigator looks worse than it has in years ( whoever designed that needs to be shot). Ford really needs to step it up in the whole Lincoln-Mercury division instead of letting in dwindle down the drain.
^I think you will be surprised who wants a luxury truck.
I think Lincoln decided it didn't fit with its brand image quite as well though... (but damn they were good looking trucks)
Not to mention the new F150 isn't too far away...
The LT really needed an different engine (uprated) to make it stand out. Same for that fugly Navigator. If it had more HP/TRQ it would have a stronger "pull" for customer's dollars.
That's exactly what I was thinking Monsta. If they had put the engine from the H-D 150 or something similar, I'd bet you would've seen bigger sales numbers.
Three years too long in my opinion. Was there really a market for it to begin with. How many people walking into a Lincoln dealership to buy a truck?
Probably the same people that would go to a Cadillac dealership and look at Escalades. And they ( Escalades ) have been around for awhile so the market is there and sales are enough that Cadillac keeps building 'em.
The bottom line is that Cadillac owns the market for these "luxury" trucks and it's going to take alot more than a rebadged F-150 to compete.
The article said Ford was coming out with a Platinum version of the F-150 in 2009. Looks like it will be the replacement for the LT but will retain the Ford nameplate. Trying to keep the F series as the top seller?
