starter problems
When i bout my truck the fender mounted starter silinoid was bypassed( the wire from the starter was splitered into i believe the ingnition wire that is suppose to run to the thin post of the top of the mounted silinoid) well i didnt really worry about it because the truck started up fine. The last couple of weeks have been different though. Sometimes the truck would turnover other times i would have to pop the hood take the the splitered section and arc it against the hot terminal just to get the engine to turn a sec get back in the truck turn the key and she would fire up. This morning was a pain i ended up having to walk to work. I tried to turn the truck over poped the hood arked the wire got back in the truck just a click and thats it so i did it a couple more times same thing. so then i did the screwdriver thing where i tried to jump the starter and all it did was spin it would not engage. I had a buddy come over and turn the key well i jumped it and still would not engage. Whats going on>? Do I need a new starter?

Sounds like your starter is turning but is not engaging the flywheel. Take it off and have it tested at one of the parts stores, they usually do it for free.
You may want to make sure you have good connections to the starter silinoid and to the starter. Make sure your ground is tight and clean connections also.
