Newguy Edmonton

Hello I am not really new to the forum or edmonton lived here all my life. What I am new to is just got my license and I can drive my baby.

1992 F-150 black 302 E4OD 3.55 2wd

Just put a exhaust and K&N Intake on.

now the bad news.....

Engine has a horrible leak to it. its not the oilpan and its not the valve covers I think its the rear main seal. Tranny has got a good leak going on also. and the Diff has a nice sweat. The leaf springs are rusted bad the truck needs a overhaul in the worst way. the old guy I bought it off of thought good care ment keeping the fluids topped up and clean and getting it serviced by some highschool kids at canadian tire.

I wanna swap in a 351 and a c6 with a 4.10 rear end by next year. My skills under the hood are oil changes fluid top ups putting the intake on. etc not the best but. I do what I can to save a buck. also. My guages have no tach where can I pick up a new guage cluster with a tach?

Any way I Love Ford trucks inmo the best vehicles on the road. I wanna keep mine around its my first vehicle its nice no noticable body rust. and I love the 92's look.

Hi, congrats on your license and your 1992. Too bad about engine/trany leak, it maybe a pain to fix till you have the swap done.
I know what you mean about the po getting it serviced by some highschool kids at canadian tire, this isn`t a great way to do it.
To pick up a guage cluster with a tach try the wreckers, there should be afew of these trucks there.
I love Ford trucks as well and I had a 93 XLT supercab shortbox, it was a sweet ride.

sorry man aint got a Job yet. currently need to get that problem addressed. have a interview tomorrow so we will see.

and I first need to take care of some pesky engine problems first.

I got a radiator leak some where I need to top up my overflow regularly.
I got a engine leak hitting the exhaust pipe and burning. need to top oil off every other week .
The old girl needs a tune up in the worst of ways.
New battery.
New alternator.

I was a fool for buying a intake and exhaust

haha i bought a 78 ford last yr at this time abut and good deal on it... $400 minor rust, 400 long block, c6 tranny and mint interior..
i was n my way home and the water pump seal blew and the motor heated... i fixed that, then the tranny burnt up after 3 weeks, the replaced that and threw an edlebrock performer 400 intake with a 650 4bbl performer card, threw a set of fattys on, floor shifter by B&M and i throught i was set... drove it for about a week and the crank started kocking alittle...i was driving home from school a few days later and the thing pilled up! and not to mention i chanced the new oil pan gasket, valve cover gaskets, rear engine gasket, and the tranny oil pan gasket... too bad ur truck wsn't carberated, simple tune up

protrac tranny is good... and i did all the seals and stuff and yes i'm in highschool... its not hard at all if u have patcients and time to do it... the valve covers were about $15, rear engin was $20 or $30 and the tranny pand one was $45 with filter, the oil pan i forget, not much thats for sure... i had to change the motor mounts too and stuff like that... on my new truck i changed the header gaskets cause exhast leaks...
