driver side wiper bushing replacement - 95 Explorer

Hi

During recent freeze accidentally turn on wipers - driver side wiper apparently stripped the busing.

I've googled and you-tubed but cannot find a video or good clear info on how to access this bushing and replace.

Anyone know where I can track down this specific info?

Can a novice mechanic with out a lot of tools tackle this job?

Thanks

Galen

Tighten the nut on your W/S wiper arm. It is taper so it will slip and not cause damaged to the motor.

Thanks for your reply. Do you mean a nut somewhere on the arm itself...or the large nut below the hub the arm fits over.

With the arm off, that hub moves freely...ir it is not gripping whatever it is supposed to have a grip on. With the wipers turned on, I can hear the hub below the grill cowling turning back and forth, but it does not move the hubs that pokes up thru the cowling.

Can you clarify?

Thanks

If the part where the arm attaches does not turn, the leakage to the wiper arm could be broke.
