does anyone know where to hook the green wire from an aftermarket tach, to a '99 4.2l in a F 150? I was told it was a certain wire in the harnness at the big firewall plug, but their was no wire or pin in that slot, nor any wire that matched the color I was told. This was almost a year ago and I just came across the tach again and wanted to hook it up.

 

 

Can't you ask the manufacturer
They usually can answer tech questions to some extent
If it is AUTOMETER they have a web site or a number on the instruction sheet

I put an aftermarket tach in my 97 F-150 4.2L. It took me a month to get it hooked up. You have to take the green lead from the tachometer and hook it into Pin 43 on the back of the computer board. Just use a wire clip.
