U joint life

bought my truck with 125,000 miles and the rear drive shaft had joints with zerks so i know they were changed. who has changed the front drive shaft joints? mine are original. assume life may be related to usage of 4 x 4, but time might also be a factor?

Fronts can last a long time since they are not used nearly as hard. My rear has been replaced twice now at 110K. That's with pulling a trailer and pulling stuck trucks.

I have 158K on my 2000 4X4 and still have the original U joints.

I have 206,000 on my 97 F150 on the original u joints. They are near the end of their life. I have one that makes noise on occasion.

I replaced mine at 85,000 miles, started squeeking.

I had to cut the cross and use an air hammer to get the caps out.
