The black paint on the passenger side fender badge on my truck has started to peel, so I am looking at going with some "custom" badges from "billet badges". Does anybody have these on their trucks? Are they worth the money? Do they stick well on the fender or will they fall off after a while? I just want to make sure they are worth it before I go fork out over $100.00 for something I can get replaced for free. Thanks!

just to let ypou know, those peeling badges are under warranty and will be replaced at the dealer
i got my replacements from the site below. went with all chrome, all the way around the truck. the only problem with having ford replace them is you get the same crap put back on. also, i am not taking my truck into the dealer to wait for them to replace them. my truck works for me, so it's usually to my advantage to just pay for things that small out of pocket (unfortunatly).

I have them on my truck. They've been on for over two years now and they still look like they did the day I put them on. Like the names says though, "billet" badges, they will require some polishing if you live in an area that uses salt on the roads in the winter. A little Mothers aluminum polish takes care of that though. The quality is top-notch and they stick very well, well enough that you better test fit for location before you peel the backing off, because once it's stuck on, it's not coming off. Here are some pics of the badges I had made.
I know, thats why I said "I just want to make sure they are worth it before I go fork out over $100.00 for something I can get replaced for free"
I got them on my truck it did hurt a little bit to get those king ranch badges off. Now if you do them like I did as part of a business well then that's considered an ad for the business and you should be able to write that off. I would still do it even if it was for non-business badges, it does draw alot of attention.

Thanks for the replies guys, I think I will try to come up with a design for some new badges. How easy are the old ones to get off? I've read to use fishing line, WD-40, and heat to "cut" the glue, and then pull them off. How do you get the rest of the glue off the paint once the badge is off? Thanks again!

Heat them with a hair dryer, then use a fishing line to cut into the glue, carefully pull them off(I was able to get them off so I can put them back on when I get ready to sell the truck) and then use goof off or some orange based cleaner to wipe off the residue from the truck and the old badges, wipe the cleaner off allow to dry and then put the new badges on.
