71CJ,
Not sure what your intentions are, but a 1995+, Explorer 8.8 rear end is about 59.3" and is an good candidate for a '60's Econoline swap. Rear discs, and priced very reasonable. There is a 28 and 31 tooth axle, but can't recall the years available. I'm new to the E's, so I'm learning as I go.
Again,
Good luck!

First of all, thanks for all the info....
Well,( I hope this doesn't upset anyone)the reason I needed to know this info was for a 62' Falcon gasser project..I wanted to put a straight axle under the front and I've read people were using early Econoline van axles for this swap..The front track width on a 62' Falcon(car) is 55 inches and while an Econoline axle does go underneath, I am probably going to use a custom built aftermarket tube axle for fear of reduced turning radius and fender clearance with the wider Econoline axle...
BTW, there are several very nice early Econoline vans in a junkyard near me in NJ..If anyone needs any parts, let me know..Thanks again!
