What is this tube?

I was checking out my EBPS tube and while I was looking at it, there is another steel tube right behind the shock mounting bracket which is all rusted on my truck. Can someone tell me what this tube is?

Can you provide a picture of the tube? What year is your truck?

it's probably the tube from your fuel filter. There is an drain and this is the tube.

My truck is a 99 F350. Unfortunatly I do not have a pic, but it looks similar to the EBR tube but runs all the way to the bottom of the motor.

Open the yellow fuel lever on the rear of the fuel bowl and see if diesel drains from the tube.

I was trying to load the pic to my gallery but IE keeps blowing up on me at work when I try. The link to this thread https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...engine+diagram in the first post the bottom picture on the diagram. On the very bottom of that diagram is a tube (going right to left) which doesn't connect at both ends, the one I'm talking about is right above that. Hopefully that makes sense.

:: edit :: it is in my gallery now, the part I'm referring to is circled in red.

Were you just looking from the bottom, does it look like it goes in the oil pan? Not trying to be a smart azz, but it looks like the dip stick tube from the diagram.
Look here http://rides.webshots.com/photo/1030...0211MFxBHMEnTM
for another diagram of the pax side

I don't think you are being a smart azz... Especially now that you say that, I didn't think that was it yesterday when I was looking at it, but now I couldn't say for sure. I'll have to go look again tonight. Thanks for the responses.

How to replace dipstick

Ok, I must have lost my mind yesterday... I feel like Red Formans kid... Dumb Azz. If I need to replace the dipstick tube, how easy of a job is it? How do I just remove the tube, not the flange?
