Exhaust Manifold SPACER...Any ideas???

I need to shim the driver's side manifold out by about 1/16 of an inch. Why? Becuase the block, heads and manifolds have all been resurfaced and thus the location of the outlets of the manifolds are slightly off and the y-pipe will not line up properly. If I leave the passenger's side as is and hook up the y-pipe to it then space out the driver's side it will line up just fine. But, how do I go about doing this? A thicker gasket? Nope, nobody makes one. A hack saw and a 1/16 inch thick sheet of metal and use a gasket as a template? Uhh, easier said than done. At the moment I am kinda stuck here....any ideas?????

Cut the Y pipe and weld it back together.

I agree with Paul's idea, I think this is your best option if you want to avoid having leaks, and maintain the correct backpressure.

Hmm, why didn't I think of that? I think what I would do is cut, then have it stretched out to a 2 1/4 ID and knotched so that I have a slip fit which would then allow me to dial it in exact. I would then clamp it back together instead of weld (I am not a welder and I do not trust a muffler shop as far as I can throw them). Thanks!!
