Hello and welcome to FTE! 
Was the tach ever an option? If so, you might check some of the local salvage yards for the parts you need. A service manual would be very handy to help determine if the wiring & sensors are already there.
If the tach wasn't an option for the Econolines, then you'll probably have to stick to an aftermarket one. Might be tough to get the V8 truck tach to work with the V10.

tach for V10 97 econolline clubwagon 350
I have a 98 E-350 and had the same thoughts, but since it was NOT an option there is no way to get one that will go in dash. I would settle for an aftermarket tach if I could find one for the V-10. Has anyone else added a tach ? Where did you find it ? Thanks, Ken
