Ejector seat activator. Don't pull it!!!!
No, it does look like the seat-back release. It allows you to fold down your seat back to create a flat storage surface.
Step one: Flip the seat itself forward. This is not necessarily easy-you have to tug on the back of it to get it up and over and the leverage works kinda funny against you.
Step two: Lift the lever and let the seat-back come forward to make the flat surface.
Reverse the procedure to restore the seating.
