Our truck club (Nostalgia Haulers Truck Club) had our 9th annual cruise yesterday. We closed off the main street of town about 12:00 and by 2:00 we had over 200 vehicles registered. We also had a chinse auction, 50/50 drawing plus the cruisers registered by donation of a new toy or money. Four members of the U.S. Maines were there to help raise money and help with any other things we need.
The weather was great. A lot of work and planning went into putting this together but it was worth all the effort. We rased $5000.00 plus a humvee
ful of toys to give to the tri-county area so kids can have a nice christmas.
Hot rodders and cruisers are some of the most generous people and make this a hobby worth getting into because of the people you meet.
We also gave away 35 trophies donated and picked by the local merchants.
One of the trophies was given by the family of a member who passed away this year. They picked a beautiful 39 ford pick-up. I will try to post pics as soon as by son gets them downloaded to me.
