Power window motor with reversed polarity

I got this replacement power window motor from NAPA, hooked it up and the up button lowers it and the down raises the window.

Obviously the wires are going to the wrong place.

It's too much trouble to take it out and replace it, can I just grind off the white plastic socket piece (that goes into the socket) and reverse it?

Yes, you can just reverse the wires to the motor, however you want to do it.
