One sold for $499.99, the other went for $159.36. I had a chance to buy the $159.39 one for $20.00 a few weeks ago. I was talking to Larry (the seller) about some other truck items he had on eBay and the subject of the hood birds came up. This one was on a '54 F-100 that he rescued from the crusher. He thought it was off some car and somebody stuck it on the truck. I explained what it was and that $20.00 was severly underpriced and asked if he wanted to reconsider. He said 'how about $60.00'. I really did not want it as I have an original and a whole box full of the stainless steel reproductions that I make. I told hin he needed to put it on eBay. Im all for turning an easy profit but sometimes it is more fun to let someone else in on the deal.

Hey Danny D

Hey man, I saw your repro's (I think) if you're the one who was in Knoxville TN, and they're GORGEOUS!!! I have a hood bird on my 1956 named PEGYSU white with turqouise fenders and runninboards. Anyway I loved your hood birds they are Heavy made, and highly polished. They look great, and if anyone wants a quality piece they need to talk to you.I can't brag on your pieces enough they are outstanding!!! If someone wanted an all original one and would buy mine, I'd buy one in a minute!! I have an extra one, with a broken wing? I bought it in Pigeon Forge years ago.I had a guy argue with me that it wasnt original, it was from Western Auto or something? I have a book with options for the 1956 F100's and it has a picture of it in it.Keep up the good work!!

Later, and GOD bless

All right guys..Forgive me for my ignorance, but I honestly thought I knew a great deal about these old trucks, but then again maybe not .. This "Hood brid" that you all are talking about, is that original equipment that I just never saw or knew about? Or is it a custom add on peice.. I have seen them, know when I went to the Show-me F100 show in Branson, but that was the first time that I saw one in person... Please educate me on them...

Thanks!

I am fairly sure the Bird was a Dealer installed item and not a factory option. There was a big discussion several months back on this Forum about the Birds,
