6"4" and about 160 pounds. Might be a little more now that I haven't worked in a month.

-Matt

P.S. The air is a bit fresher up here, unless my socks are off.

Pretty truck...

Gonna git me one of them thar didgytal camries one day.
Or, I'll have to stop spending my extra cash on the kids.
Or, I'm too old to learn new tricks.
Or, I'm too busy working on fresh air.
Now you have 4 possible answers to choose from, and no, I didn't break the lens on the camera.
Got to go. I'm way behind on my hate mail.

Ok, let's try posting a picture.

I found this out in the bush. It needs a LITTLE work. I bet this old truck could tell some stories.

What a waste of a 56!!!
There's a lot of people that think the 56 was Fords' most beautiful truck. I'm one of those people.

I guessed it was a '55 but it hard to tell with so little of it left. I did find a head lite trim ring on the ground that was in reasonable shape. It's stainless steel. I plan to use it as picture frame for the photo. A fitting memorial for the old truck.

Here's an old Merc I saw(51?). Look's like it worked long and hard befor they parked it. I can't figure out what the boom was for? I'm guessing it was for pulling logs out of the bush? At least they're cutting the grass around it!

I'll have to disagree. I like the look of the 51/52 more (my dad has a 51 undergoing restoration right now). To me the extra fat fenders on the 56 make it look overweight. I also like the 73-79 trucks too.

Frank, were there any traces of a company name on that 56? Looks like there is a logo on the door.... Reminds me of some old pictures in my dad's photo album from when he was much younger of my grandfather's 57 Chev fleetside with his name and farm name hand lettered on the side of the box. And I mean the obvious hand lettering, not the neat stencilled kind. Apparently back then it was law to have the farm name on the side of the trucks?

They also used a truck like that for pulling motors.

Actually the "F" on the door of the '56 is part of a logo for "Faraday Uranium Mines Ltd." which makes sense since the truck is Faraday Township and the Bancroft area had a few mines back in the 50's and 60's. Maybe the Uranium gave the truck an extra half-life?

Good one! Maybe that's why it's green. Does it glow at night?

Looks aren't everything

I had a 48 Merc. and there was more room in my 54 Ford. The 56 was the first wrap around windshield which modernized the look of the truck considerably. The previous bodys in that year group are commonly refered to as slanted roof because of the rake of the windshield.
So, it's OK to like the pointy nosed 48-52 trucks, but survey says the 53-56 are prefered more often.
AL.
P.S....Remember that it's a God given right to have you're own opinion!!!!!!!!!!!!!
