From what I have been told, the Allison is the same Transmission they are just counting Torque convertor lockup as another gear, am I correct or way in left field? BTW, I have seen WAY more 08 SD's than that Edit by Max Ugly new Cheby. BTW, I did see a brand new ugly one being hosed down by a Fire Truck yesterday on Kingston Pike in Knoxville, TN it burnt to the ground!

Its close enough that personal preference should be the reason to buy one and not the other. I can remember when the cummins first showed up in the dodge, it had 400lb/ft and it was the cats meow, now all three manufactures are packing over 600lb/ft. To say one outpulls another is one thing but to say one doesnt pull is quiet another.
I am sorry i meant GM and Dodge and they surely do. One you ever look at all the fords going down the road compared to the number of dodges or gms.Look at all the companys using fords and not the other 2. Ford does outsell both combined.

I was going by statistics as I can't see all over the US at one time and was unaware that the only companies that buy trucks for work were over in your neck of the woods.

Could you post a link to your statistics?

in 1993 yeah ford sold more trucks then chevy gmc and dodge combined, but back then dodge barely sold 40 000 trucks in a year, chevy was in the 500 000 range gmc was 100 000+ and ford was 700 000+

I know this sounds lame but I am not sure how to post a link butdo a search but keep in mind that the brands encompass more than trucks, but that is how ford and gm can both claim to be the best selling trucks in the US legally, ford is basing there sales against each brand individually and GMs claim is combined. Now that has been for the past few years so I may stand corrected as to what the sales are currently, They both need to get on the ball if they are going to hold the top spots.
