Backup lights and an upfitter switches??

I just bought some fog lamps for backup lights and I want to run them off one of the upfitter switches. My question is can I hook them up by simply mounting the lights and grounding the ground. Then run one of the blunt cut wires from under the steering column to the lights on the hot lead. Which are connected to the upfitter switches? Am I missing anything or is it that simple?

That is how I did mine. I actually ran 3 of the blunts back there for the fog lamps, a topper light and a 12v receptacle. All three ground at one of the frame grounds by the spare. just make sure to run at least 14 gauge for the lights. The blunt for switch #1 is 14 gauge I believe.

It will be fine as long as you use upfitter 1 or 2. They are both 30 amp circuits. Upfitters 3 and 4 are only 10 amp circuits and you will most likely blow fuses all the time unless you use a relay between the lights and battery for your main power.
