ford expedition over drive problem

I went to drive my exped to work this morning and when I got to 40 miles an hour instead of switching to overdrive the transmition was in no gear. I pulled over checked my fluids and my transmition oil was low so I topped off but there still is no overdrive. Anyone have an idea where to look. Transfer case, electrical, or should I bite the bullet and head to AAMCO? Thanx

Don't go to AAMCO! They are known for overcharging and repairing whats not broken. Ask around about some other local transmision shops and go with the word of mouth recomendations.

Thanks, I meant AAMCO as any shop. I know its not something with the oil/filter because I changed it. There is no check engine light so no codes flashing. The speedometer is acting normal so that might rule out speed sensor. I'm out of ideas if anyone has any I'd love to hear them.
