It's a bad weekend

Didn't get anything done this weekend. Had eye surgery this week/. Can't do anything or bend over and look at the floor for 4 weeks. A real bummer ! The good part is that so far the surgery appears to have been highly successful. I plan on doing exactly what I am told to insure good result.

A little progress is still progress

I am finishing up my 4 Bar rear setup. I have had things mocked up for some time. I struggled with panhard location. Now I need to set up the shocks then it all needs to come apart to finish weld. I am hoping to start that next weekend. I think I am getting close.

I have spent the hole week end removing things on the frame I don't need and removing the wiring from the dash I took out of the donor car. Trying to figure out which wires I need to make it run. What a mess. Didn't know the TPI had so many wires. ......RUSTY

Most of you are going like gang busters, makes me look bad...
No progress on the 53 or the 56. I got side tracker by buying a 67 Fairlane GT, my first 390/4 speed car, the 67 Mustang fastback has a 390/C6.
Hope to get back to the 56 M100 this week, it`s now going back stock and the 53 M100 is getting the slight mods instead, stock body with the 80 Mercury front clip, 302/C4 and relocated gas tank.

Friday modeled up a hood scoop for the '55, cut out some 18ga. steel and rough formed to shape. Saturday continued to shape the scoop and tack welded up a steel rod for a rolled edge, did layout for depression and opening in hood and made the necessary cuts. Sunday I made a hammerform to shape the angled edges of the depression, attached it to the bottom of hood and formed the angled edges. Was in the process of tuning up the shrinking disc when the backing pad blew apart and tossed a chunk into my big belly. Thankfully I just ended up with a bruise, but, I decided to call it quits for the day.

Still undecided?

Hey guys, I go through that stuff where: I've had it, I'm goin to change it all over to all Ford, and that's it.Then I go through I hate to take my finished truck all apart, and start all over.I haven't done anything to my truck in quite a while.Just cleaned it up, went to a car cruise last night.I got a 1956 F100 Panel truck to start on.I might just build it, and not do anything to my old girl?I'm like most of you guys, I buy about every one of these old trucks I can afford, with the intent on fixin them up someday?Right now I have a1956 panel truck, 1953 panel truck, 1956 F100, 1961 Unibody, a 1953 Ford 2door post car,and a pretty decent 1953 F100 cab.My regular driver is done for now??? it is a 1956 F100 named "Pegysu" I'm the neighborhood Fred Sanford.Anyone know anyone who would like to buy some old iron?I plan on buildin the Unibody to sell. It's channeled 4" on a 1984 Mercury frame, with the 302 and AOD from the same car.I'd like to sell the 1953 car, and the cab, and some of the parts from the 1953 Panel.I'm planning to use the 1/4's out of the 53panel, as my 1956's are kind of bad.The roof on the 1953 is pretty good, and it has a Flathead.(Most Likely locked up)

Hey guys slow down you'r makin the rest of us look bad!!!Withit bein so hot, and I suffer from Migrane headaches when I get over heated, I haven't been doin a whole lot.
Later

I did walk through the garage several times, each time I did I reached a hand out and rubbed it down the fender. Thats as close as I got to doing anything to the truck, no wait....Friday night I did sit in the drivers seat while sipping a cold frosty beverage.

I'm hoping I'll get a chance to tinker with it one night this week. I have an almost new Edlebrock carb to install and I need to replace the master cylinder.

Glad the rest of you got stuff done
Bobby

Had a good weekend

Well I'm another weekend closer to getting my panel in primer, I had a pretty good weekend finishing up with the body filler. I think that it just might become a 10/10. I haven't taken any pictures of late but will soon as I suck up all the dust. Next weekend don't look to promising because the hydro will be off Sunday and I'll need a few days in order to apply both epoxy and my high build primers. Maybe I'll leave it to labour day weekend and have a spare day in case something goes wrong.

Finished prepping the right door for primer and got it primed and trimmed in final color, then rolled the truck back in its cave until later this week or the weekend.
I have a few small imperfections to iron out and the cab will be in its final color.
Then my glass goes back in and the dash starts to go back together. Its been a year setting as a shell stripped.
I cant wait to get it looking like something.
Its been off the road since about 1980.

I finally finished relocating my remote tranny cooler and installing a fan on it. I had to make a switch panel for my switches, too...I couldn't fit any more under the dash with adding the manual over-ride switch for the additional fan...so much for being hidden. Oh well.

Does this mean that you finally picked a color?

No progress what-so-ever since the Ozarks Run. I had a very minor surgery friday to remove the dialysis catheters from my chest. I am sooo glad to see them gone. They are using my fistula in my arm now.

The truck (and everything else) is on hold until is see if I have a job at the school still. Classes are not making (so far).

I intend to order some supplies and start on the body work next...if I have a job. LOL
